Press conference of the Federation of Austrian Industry Burgenland
Economic upswing, raw materials and skilled labour shortage were addressed – our own Lisa Marchhart was there.
Lisa Marchhart, controller in our company, attended the press conference of the Federation of Austrian Industry (FAI) Burgenland on 29th of June 2021. The FAI sees the shortage of skilled labour as one of the challenges facing politics. 80% of Burgenland businesses have problems filling their vacancies.
The president of the FAI Burgenland, Manfred Gerger, made it clear during this press conference that in addition to the current shortage of raw materials the shortage of skilled labour represents the most significant problem in the economic upswing. Without personnel, some orders can no longer be processed. He therefore called on both politicians and society to make the shortage of skilled labour the central issue for the upswing and growth in the next few years and which should be addressed by an overall strategy. This approach would be welcome by the representatives of the Burgenland economy, Michael Dinhobl, Christian Strasser, Andreas Schabhietl and Lisa Marchhart.
